They had only been walking for around ten minutes before Velus gave a
yelp. It seemed that he had trodden on something sharp. Fred checked
Velus' paw. It didn't appear to be damaged. What was even stranger is that
when they looked around at the tunnel floor, there was no evidence of
anything that could have caused it. They soon found out, however, that
something had happened as a result of it. Velus had managed to trigger an
alarm, as they could hear it in the distance. Fred unsheathed his sword
and tensed, pretty sure they would soon encounter the dragon's
minions. Instead it was something quite different. Everything went dark for a split-second, and when their sight readjusted, they found themselves on a rocky cratered landscape. It was night, and they were simply awestruck at the number of stars they could see. Though that was nothing compared to the surprise when they started to move. They didn't so much walk as bound. Neither of them had any explanation for what was going on, though it was obvious Velus was enjoying himself from the noise he was making. As they crested the rim of a large crater, it was time for surprise number two (or three, if you included the strange landscape). They noticed something appear over the horizon - which itself was far more curved then it should have been, though they didn't seem to notice that. As it rose slowly in front of them, they could see it seemed to be a large disc of blue, green and white. The white seemed to swirl and move about. Astra suddenly got an inkling of what it was. She was reminded of a globe of their world she saw in her palace home in Aqualaria. It had been a present from the Hespan, one of the most travelled races known. She tried to bring an image of it in her head. She almost smacked herself when she noticed similarities between the two. "That's our world, Fred!" she exclaimed. "How is that possible?" Fred said. "That would mean we're on the -" He was too dumbstruck to finish the sentence. "-On the moon, yes," Astra finished for him. If anything, she was taking the news much better than Fred. Of course, the implications of such a thing were vast. They no idea how far the moon was from their home, but they thought it would have been far out of the dragon's reach. Apparently not. Not knowing anything about gravity, which being much lighter than their own would be the cause of their strange movement. Nor how thin the atmosphere was, so had no idea that, by rights, they shouldn't be able to breathe. Lastly, the temperature would have been far below freezing, but they felt nothing less than the normal temperature of the Shreken cave system.
