Fred and Velus followed the old woman down several blocks to her small
house. "Welcome to my home", she said, "please make yourselves
comfortable." She served tea and biscuts, which Fred ate out of
politeness, but what he really wanted to try were the tacos he saw on the
commercial. Velus growled at her cat, and received a nasty scratch in the
face. The old lady laughed. "Careful, pup. Mittens isn't afraid of
dogs." Fred drained the remainder of his tea. "Pardon me ma'am, but I've been wondering. How do you know Astra?" "Ho ho, I've been reading the stories of your addventures for a real long time. I'm probably too old for that computer mumbo-jumbo, but I just find the Never-Ending Quest so entertaining!" Fred looked confused, "Perhaps I can explain", she gave the quantum mechanics explaination that Betty gave the other Fred eariler, "I don't expect you to understand any of that. You didn't believe Betty eariler. But just try to understand this; scholars in your world believed strongly in a 'Dimension of the Higher Ones', and you have entered that dimension, although we are hardly 'Higher Ones', merely authours of stories. Authours who write stories about your world, stories that you see as your many adventures. They present you with choices. Those choices lead to different storylines, different Freds, different Astras, different Veluses. Now you're probably wondering what this has to do with anything. Well, due to some random brainwave of one authour, a monster was born. A monster more hideous than any that you faced during your quest." Fred thought of the beast who stole Astra, "You're probably thinking of the beast who stole Betty and Astra. No, that is not it. That beast- Attackur is it's name, is merely one of the underlings of the Evil Twin of the King of Nerds. The King of Nerds is a man called Bill Gates. He's pretty evil anyways, so you must imagine how evil his evil twin is! His twin was so evil, he had to be banished into some unexpecting dimension, which I'm guessing he's probably taken over by now. Well, he's taken advantage of the weakened dimensional barrier due to authours of the Never- Ending Quest calling Freds and Astras into reality and kidnapped Betty Ragan, one of the authours. Astra just happened to be with her at the time. Betty's house is a crucial nexus in the space-time continuum, and it's power seems to have been passed on to a particular towel, without Betty being aware of it. That towel dissappeared around the time a different Fred arrived in this world. If you want to go interdimensional travelling to find Astra, I'd advise you look for that towel. Any questions?" "Why did you just tell me this?" "Oh, I just wanted to be included in an episode, if you don't mind. Well, good day!"
