Jarlath:
Having the advantage of elevation over the elves on their deer, we are the first to see what we assume must be our destination, still quite a few miles distant: a formidable castle perched on a hill in the middle of a desolate plain. "I guess that must be it," Astra says. "It certainly looks like the sort of residence that a Dark Mage would favour." As the elves are just ahead of us, we catch them up, then signal to them to stop. We land, and discuss with them how we should make the final approach to the castle. Not only is Angar, the Dark Mage, supposed to have a force of Vikings at his command, together with various nasty monsters, but no doubt he will have plenty of magical defences too. The original plan had been to try to sneak by at least the non-magical opposition, but given that the castle is up on a hill and is surrounded by terrain offering no natural cover, that now seems rather a tall order even allowing for the Dark Elf skills that the four Fertals and four Artizzas possess.
