Nodding off to Sleep

The small meal was just what Fred's body needed in order to continue healing. A natural effect of the meal was to make Fred drowsy. As he fell asleep, he reviewed the events of the previous day. Two fights - one with a wallhugger, and one with a goblin with some magical device, with his life being saved by one of his companions in each case. One beautiful princess, who has risked everything she values to make sure that he would live. One wizard, to whom he should feel grateful, but whom he cannot fully trust. One creature of some fantastical race, not even known in Allarian legend, who had some hidden understanding of an arcane book. And somewhere out in the caves, somewhere, was the dragon. It had been a busy and humbling day.

When Fred had woken up,

1. Checkers was shaking him and saying, "Wake up Fred! Astra has spotted the dragon!"
2. Astra and Belboz were talking, and, Fred could overhear them, although they did not know this.
3. The savory smell of fresh eggs and bacon wafted through the cave. "Now where would they find fresh eggs and bacon?" thought Fred.
