Velus wagged his tail and trotted into the room. He turned around at the strongbox which lay flush against the wall of the cave, stood up on his hind legs, and then went down on all fours. "Maybe I was mistaken about traps. It seems odd that the box would not be better guarded, though," said Astra, in a hushed voice. "Agreed. But these boxes are meant to be used. It would be too much of a bother to go through a set of precautions just to deposit a letter to the dragon." Fred and Astra tiptoed through the prone bodies of drunken and sleeping orcs to join Velus. The strongbox was made of wood. There were two bands of iron dividing the strongbox in thirds. A crudely carved relief of a dragon dominated the middle of the box, and a smaller embossed carving of a razorback with large tusks lay to the left, with a similar carving of a shark lay to the right. On each band there was a keyhole. "Velus, which should we try?" whispered Fred. Velus was trying to climb up the strongbox, over the relief of the dragon. There was no way that he could make it though, as there was nothing for Velus to grab on to, and the top of the box was a little over Fred's and Astra's heads, hopelessly out of reach for the small dog.
