The Never Ending Quest - Episode 31224

Fertal 2

And goodness knows where the next town is around here! Frankly, at first the idea had appeal, but frankly the practical matters of shear weight argue against anything like doing long hauling with all this delightful smelling hair! If it wasn't so needful to somehow replenish our meager monetary resources, I am sure we all would have not even given hawking this hair a second thought!

As it is, we must by need let our human companions get some rest now! 'Tis been a long journey for them with little to no rest between Quests. Unlike elves, they need to sleep. Sleep they shall, but only long enough to "take the edge" off their weariness, so they can adjust to the day/night cycle of this world. We had arrived at night after all and while we had managed some progress, riding at night (with us night sighted elves leading the way), but "jet lag" (as they put it) is catching up with them. What with the few hours of difference between worlds and all that . . . . .

My only hope is that guided by the "feel" we have coming from our brother elves (the object of our Quest), that we shall be able to manage to catch up with them, if we push our horses VERY hard. Can feel they are nearer, but . . .

Why in the name of Heaven they are on the move? It's almost as if they were seeking something . . . .

Meanwhile, Artizza 3 & 4 and Fertal 3 & 4 have managed (through their swiftness and rather unexpected feirceness) managed to corner a rather surprised Dreamwalker! Yes, she and her friends had managed a bit of an ambush, separating the proto Dark Elves from their horses. Something of a merry chase through the woods had ensued, but tables had been turned unexpectedly. The Artizzas smile a rather grim smile, happy that their plan had worked . . . and some answers could be gotten from these strange hunters (in the form of this surprised and disgruntled oversized elf)!

Meanwhile, Dreamwalker is beginning to wonder if she should have wasted that special talisman given by her master. The last charge had been used up to catch up with her brothers and sisters after she'd been able to (after that rather.....odd....delay from those mini-elves with her original quary, the human named "Fred"). She'd kind of hoped that after she'd gotten back with her own kind and taken care of their odd, new "quaries" (i.e. the various other "Fred" vibes that had suddenly popped up, making for some very confused "independents") some kind of discussion would/could happen to hash out what to do next? Oh, whatever the case, their purpose was clear. They were assigned by the master to kill their quary, even if somehow more than one was out there (for some unknown reason). Maybe somebody could figure out just why the lay of the land (the very stars) had changed! But her highest hope was that after this newest quary, she'd be able to take her brothers and sisters, as a team, and go back and kill those mini-elves! Not just for the "Frediness" given off by those odd dark haired mini-elves (who looked like the original human "Fred" quary), but for the humiliation of having been driven off the first time by that mage.....

But it appeared that, somehow, those mini-elves had gotten ahead of her and CAPTURED her.

She'd never live this one down!

As for the "mini-elves".....

Maybe with a little luck, some answers could be gotten from this silver haired, overgrown elfin woman! Like just WHY the big elves were hunting the little elves, eh?

  1. Maybe with a LOT of luck, after info is gotten, they could get the horses back after all this (i.e. the hunters hadn't thought to kill them to slow them down) . . . .
