The Never Ending Quest - Episode 31027

A mom knows her child, even if that child is now half fox.
Andrea had a shower (installed last month) and warm soup before her mother allowed Andrea to say much.
The story took long to tell and Andrea had three bowls by the time she was done. She leaned back in the kitchen chair, wrapped up in an old familiar bright green blanket.
"Well." said her mom. "The Spooky Castle is fifty miles from here. And I know we don't have a booby trapped tunnel in the basement. I suggest we talk to the Old Witch. She specializes in trauma-fixture magic but I'm sure we can get a handle on the whole vortex thing."
"And what about my fox form?"
"She won't care. She's a witch!"
"No, I know what. But transforming back?"
"Sorry, honey. If you still had that wasp sting, sure."
"Maybe she was the one..."
"Negative, dear. I was playing cards with her an hour ago."

  1. The witch was useful in many ways.
  2. The witch was kind yet useless. And tall as anyone Andrea had ever seen.
  3. They could not talk to the witch, for she was helping at a mining accident.
  4. The witch had a spell that had a low chance of changing Andrea back.
  5. The witch shows up, having detected the magic around Andrea.
  6. The busybody college warlocks showed up, having detected magic. They think Andrea is a circus performer.
