Andrea sat in a thick wooden chair at the witche's table. Her name was Mrs. Hoffenfeffer but she enjoyed being called 'Hoff'. She was an old woman, thick white hair, her face a maze of wrinkles and the body of a scarecrow. Andrea suspected there was something extra in the tea, considering she had been changed into a half wolf not so long ago and wasn't too concerned. She followed Hoff with her eyes, and not realizing it, her ears. The kitchen was half forest, with herbs and plants and other living things on every surface and then so. "So." Andrea said, lazily. "I sort of walked through town and nobody said a thing about me being half wolf. Vixen." "Honey." Hoff said, smiling over a riotous mass of flowers in a blue vase. "I specialize in emergencies. For all sorts of people. Live in town, too. People run to me when their bits are falling off and I don't want to create a panic with literally blood in the streets. The locals...see what they need to get folks out of the way." "And let me guess...some of those folks, all normal and every day, don't look exactly human either. Don't want the townfolk panicking if a goblin or an orge or someone with more eyes than ears needs help." "Got a clever mind, working through those calmness herbs." Andrea smiled. "And bless you for saying some ONE and not some THING. We're going to be good friends." "My mom?" Andrea put the tea down on the table, next to some herbs even she knew helped bad toes. "Sent her home. She's a good woman but she has bias." "Shame about the fox thing." Andrea said, slurring some of her words. "I got a good look in your mirroooor. Smashing." "Yeah, well, life's not a bowl of cherries." was the last thing Andrea heard for some time.
