The Hunt for Nixy

"It's her nickname," Astra explained. "Her full name is Nixilimnaetia, after a great figure in our history, but as you can imagine we don't call her that very often. She was travelling home after a visit to an outlying town when the dragon attacked her party, killed most of them, and took Nixy prisoner. So I came here intending to kill the dragon and rescue her. The first part of that has now been achieved, thanks to you (and I shall be forever in your debt), but I've still got to find Nixy."

"Even with the dragon dead, this is still a very dangerous place. Let me at least accompany you to the entrance, and then I will go back and search for your sister."

"I will gladly accept your help in looking for my sister, but to run from danger is not the Aqualarian way. Besides, now that you no longer have your sword you may need my help. I am skilled in unarmed combat. We will search for her together."

Though he had heard tales of the fighting prowess of Aqualarian women, Fred was still uneasy. But this Princess Astra was clearly a very determined character, and he realised that to argue with her would be a waste of time.

"Very well," he said. "I've discovered that my map is not much use. Do you have any idea about where we might find her?"

1. "I had a map before the dragon took it from me, along with everything else I'd brought with me. I think I can remember most of it. Though he chained me up here, the main dungeon is this way." She pointed down the tunnel.
2. "No. We will just have to search for as long as it takes."
