Fred boosted Astra up to the small entrance. She dipped her bo staff and Fred scrambled up it.
They found themselves crouched in the corner of a mighty ballroom. It was a half oval. At the far end, about five hundred feet away, two red-carpeted stairways descended from an upper level and met at the bottom. Plants surrounded the far end, looking like a honor gaurd for whatever descdended. Most of the floor was a cool, polished marble, perfect for gliding about with a date. The far right wall had unobtrusive sections for drinks, food and other more personal functions one did not mention. Light shone from reflected metal plates set in the celing. Fred noticed that on his side, several spots in the wall were transluscent, letting in light that was bounced all across the room via metal plates. He had heard of this technique used by the Egyptians. The two companions stood up. Fred wondered if the Egyptians had built this place. But Fred did not know of any jungles in the land of Egypt.
