The Never Ending Quest - Episode 2954

The sight was frightful; the very large gate was made of a strange
material never before seen by Fred in the Great Kingdom. The gate looked
to be made of a silk that was woven manyfold, it glistened as if moist and
it's sheen looked almost like that of a living membrane. Beside it stood
two incredibly huge warriors clad in armor whose color was equal to that
of the pyramid itself: blood red. Though the Sentinels stood upon two
legs like men, their arms reached down to nearly touch the ground. The
steel helmets that covered their faces also seemed extraordinarliy large
as if the heads they contained were much grander than that of mortal men.
Suffice it to say, neither Fred nor Astra were pleased with what they saw.
Was this the place of the Master Wizard? Was it home to a monster of a different nature? Why had they been sent here? Many questions flooded the minds of Lord Fred and his companion-in-arms, but few answers. The lake was all about, and the jungle only a stone's throw away. This behemoth of a structure was all that there was of anything close to civilization. From where they stood, the white and silver pathways spread above the jungle canopy and some chittering could still be heard from there. No birds came close to the pyramid, however, no chimp or lizard nor insect either. All was still and hot, and the sweat that beaded their brows warned them they would have to do something soon. Just then they heard a strange slurping noise. Turning, they saw the waters of the lake undulate as if something were moving underneath, then it was gone. The duo did not like this one bit. Then another sound caught their attention; it was the clank of armour. The two Sentinels were moving inside the pyramid while two new guardians replaced them; it was the changing of the guard!
