Moon over Allaria

Astra stood open-mouthed. "Is there no refuge from the bizarre in this forsaken land?" she thought. She looked away and then back toward the cottage. The 'eye' was merely the moon looming over the horizon. Nothing more. It did seem brighter than usual.

Astra looked down again, remembering the hermit's warning. She had two urges. One was simply to get back into the safety of the hut, and shut out the insanity of this land. The other was to stare at the moon, and assure herself that all was normal, that her nerves were getting the better of her.

Astra decided to

1. get back into the cottage.
2. stare at the moon.
