Patrol In The Woods

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 28843

There have been sightings of odd, bobbing lights, even in the daytime, in the woods to the north of the base.
Fred, Astra and three men set off to the site of the most recent light.
Fred is introduced to the men by the side of the mess hall. Wonderful smells waft outwards. The well-tended grass and the shadows of the building make Fred reluctant to move from this spot.
But the sooner the situation is over with, the sooner Fred can fake time- off orders for these men.
The first is Private Buggers, thin as a rail and smart as any heathen in the Temples Of Learning. He had dark red hair, a nose that looked like he swallowed an eagle and feet that could make an elephant jealous.
The second man just barely met the Legion's height and weight requirements for the fighting forces division. Nobody called him by his prefered name, for it was full of too many letters and numbers. They just called him Private Stinky. Stinky didn't mind, for in the Three Kingdoms, 'Stinky' was slang for 'Strong, loyal and would rob criminals and give to the poor'. All true for this man. The Three Kingdoms was an odd place.
The third person was Private Bait-trap Deadmeat. He was very quiet and nervous. Astra had assured Fred that Deadmeat knew the woods better then anyone. Still, the man looked awfully young. He had blonde hair, squinty eyes, no chin to speak off and a drawing of his sweetheart in his front pocket. (Fred had heard Deadmeat showing it to the others as he had approached).
The patrol begins. Who is on point?

  1. Fred.
  2. Astra.
  3. Buggers.
  4. Stinky.
  5. Deadmeat.
