So there was Emmelia, the mysterious adventurer who claimed to be from
another world, who aided Fred on another quest and whom Fred met under
circumstances too convoluted to
explain--or was that Melissa? Oh well, that's too convoluted to explain.
Fred approached casually. "Fred!" hailed Emma. "Emma, how nice." "I see your hair has grown back." "It has," replied Fred. "You still missing a toe?" "Yeah," sighed Emma, "but it's the ring I miss most." "I'm glad you tossed the toe like that or we'd still be there. I've never seen anyone do that before." "Me?! You! How'd you ever hold your breath that long underwater?" "I don't know," said Fred, "It's too bad I don't swim. You ever learn the rest of the song?" "Nope," replied Emma. "And my hand still twitches whenever I see a butterfly." "Mine too, mine too." "So," said Emma after a pause. "You going to untie me or what?" "I don't know," replied Fred thoughtfully, "whatever is after you this time isn't going to, you know, to me?" Emma rolls her eyes. "Not again."
