Fred declines the succubus' offer.

"Excuse me?" The succubus pulls her head back in a startled, insulted manner. Her batwings flick out and shake, from what Fred suddenly fears as anger.

"Ah, no," Fred backpedals frantically over his verbal stumble, "what I meant was, I mean, the mood isn't... quite right, and for humans, you see, we - we, uh..."

The succubus glared at him searingly as she rose up from the shallow pool, the lava running in streams from her body. Fred found his eyes glued to every inch that rose from the surface, and his jaw dropped slack in amazement. She was perfect...

"Yeah," she said, smoothing the lava free from her hair, "you goody-goody religious moral-touting humans are no fun - and insulting, to boot!" For emphasis, she flicked a handful of molten rock into his eyes.

"AAAGH!" Fred cries out, wiping frantically at the substance stuck to his face. "That really burns!" Fred squints at the blurred female figure before him. "Hey, you said the lava pool was safe. Is this pool chlorinated, or something?"

"Hmph," the succubus grunts. "Of course it is. We keep some things cleaner here in Hell than on that scummy surface world of yours!" The succubus shrugs her shoulders straight and saunters away from the pool, in search of better prey.

1. Fred regrets abandoning his religious convictions.
2. Fred sighs with relief now that the beast is gone.
