"You're about to taste the full fury of the forces of Darkness!" taunted
monkey. "I lay two cards face down! And I summon Abyssal Monkey Gate
Keeper in defense mode!" The monkey slapped three cards into the air, where they hovered motionlessly thanks to the inherent magic of the wizard game. In the space between Fred and the monkey another monkey materialized. This monkey wore obviously magical vestments, and held a huge obsidian rod in its paws. "What the?" Velus said. "Now both monkeys are gonna attack Fred?" "No, stupid!" Korval said. "One of the monkeys is an illusion. It can't hit Fred - as long as he can bring out a monster next turn, of course. And even if it hits him, it'll hurt, but it's just illusionary damage." "Oh, this will hurt a lot." the monkey said. "My Abyssal Monkey Gate Keeper will lay you to waste! Make your move, Fred, you snivelling cur!" "Take him out, Fred!" Astra shouted. "That Monkey Gate Keeper only has 1500 attack points! You've just gotta have something that can beat it!" "Jeff, you're nothing but a bully." Fred said. "And you'll pay for your careless insults. I summon the mighty Dark Magician!" Before Fred put his card down, he knew he had to choose between attack and defense mode. With 2500 attack points, the Dark Magician could easily defeat the Abyssal Gate Keeper Monkey, and also put a serious dent in Jeff's life points. But there was still the matter of Jeff's two face-down cards. And in defense mode, the Dark Magician would protect Fred's life points no matter what happened.
