They soon found a large amount of houses and stores built into the side of
the tunnel wall. The 'main street' was fifty feet wide and well polished. The stores and homes had windows, doors, stairs, stoops and some even had Creeping Sunless Vines in decorative pots by the front door. But nobody was around. Then Astra landed in a croch in front of the men. Clothes fluttered to the smooth floor like landing sea gulls. "Acgh!" said Velus. "Oh, hush. One of us had to investigate and while you men were gawking, I went into one house and stole some clothes and looked around. Half-empty plates of food on the table, all the usual stuff." "Usual?" asked Velus as he put on a set of high quality casual clothes. "Our kingdom keeps a detailed account of magical phenemonon." "Logical." said Lord Fred. "I'll have to get my King to do the same. But Astra, what usually causes people to vanish like this?"
