A New Threat

"At least we did some damage." Slash said, but there was no real positivity in his voice.

"I... I'm glad that you guys made it." Kate said in a tone of voice that made it obvious she was beyond any ordinary state of grief. "I don't think I'll be able to say the same thing for myself much longer though."

"What?" Thelonius said. "What are you talking about, Kate?!"

"Something's attacking - a fleet of ships, I think, but the readings are so unusual I can't tell exactly what... in any case, they're destroying the Federal Armada right now, and they've damaged our ship's propulsion systems. I don't know how much longer the communications and lifesupport will hold out..."

Then the transmission was cut by static.

1. The surviving Sulfur Bandits decide to rescue Kate.
2. Fred hears a massive explosion to the south. "That's odd." thinks he. "The frontline's to the north."
3. While inspecting the new Doom Star, Controller Garth gets news of the massacre over Delta 7.
