"So you walked through that doorway of light, and it restored you to
normal?" Astrid asked Velus to confirm. Perhaps it would do the same
for me, she thought. If I carry the lamp through, maybe it will
even restore Astra too. Or should I risk calling her out of the lamp, and
get her to walk through? That would not only reveal her to Velus, of
course, but also almost certainly let him guess who I am, rather than
carrying on assuming that I'm Astra.
"Yes," was all that Velus said in reply to her question . Astrid looked at his face as he spoke, but it gave her no clue as to what he might be thinking. Astrid continued to consider her options. If he isn't the innocent boy that he seems, then the doorway could well be a trap. Who knows what it might do?
