The Never Ending Quest - Episode 238

Could that be the tower where the wizard's master lived? they wondered. Unfortunately it looked as though it would be impossible to get out of the valley without passing almost directly beneath it, since in every other direction the valley walls were too steep to climb.

They decided to wait for nightfall, in the hope of being able to get past the tower without being spotted. There was nothing to eat in the valley, but they were able to quench their thirst from an ice-cold stream. Of course, as well as his pack Fred lacked his sword, left behind in the heart of the dragon. Astra tied the chains that were attached to her wrists and ankles into loose knots to keep them from getting in her way.

  1. The sun set, and they cautiously approached the mouth of the valley, where it was overlooked by the tower.
  2. Just before sunset, they heard distant cries, whether human or animal it was hard to say.
