Dazed, Checkers looked around. Through the darkness crept a dark figure,
only the flickering kiss of the lanterns glow shed clue to what foul
beast lurked just beyond the shadows. Checkers began to sweat as she
felt a dark chill down the middle of her spine, she slowly backed away,
intently watching the edge of the light which illuminated only a small
portion of the room. The lantern flickered and from the erie glow emerged a small figure. His features seemed to be human, but streched and somewhat contorted. Dark black, his skin seemed to be flaking off his corpse with hair as white and tangled as wallhugger's web. His eyes set deep back into his skull with a twisted almost half smile on his face. He seemed to drag his corpse toward Checkers in a suddenly unfaltering almost demonic trance. His cold lips let out a shriek so ear wretching Checkers heard Belboz gasp and cry out. "FIRE!" screamed Belboz. "Its the only thing that he fears!" Suddenly she spotted her spear, upon retreival she flung it effortlessly toward the creature known as a unseelie kobold. It pierced his middlesection and pinned him to the ground. Checkers dove toward a corner full of shelves. As she ripped the wood off the wall and hurled it at the creature she could feel her fingers start to crack and bleed. She tossed her lantern at the now quite large woodpile on the unseelie kobold.Flames burst from the lantern onto the kindling and ignited the pile quite easily. The now familer shriek rang out from the monster till its last breath was extinguished.
