Hit by a Brick

It was an interesting point, but it was not to be answered. For the brick's trajectory appeared to alter part-way down, and instead of hitting the Little Girl it struck Andrea on her forehead. She fell unconscious, a nasty bruise rapidly developing. But the bruise might prove to be the least of her worries.

1. When Andrea came round, there was no sign of either the boy or of the Little Girl. Had she dreamt the whole thing?
2. When she came round, the body of the boy lay next to her, a hole in the chest where the heart had been. Of the Little Girl there was no sign. (Apparently she only took one heart at a time.) Andrea did some more screaming.
3. When she came round, there was a hole in her chest where her heart should have been!
4. Andrea never came round. Having your heart ripped from your body tends to be fatal more often than not.
