The woman and two of the men agreed, having been bewitched by Aresia. They
turned to leave. However, there was a slight problem. The remaining
officer was an android, and as such could not be controlled. He gave his
fellow officers a quick slap each, breaking their trance, before turning
to Aresia. "Nice try," he said. "but by doing that you've given yourself away. Only women from the Calana Hegenomy, those from Dolmen in particular, use that form of mind control. Therefore you must have been in the lifeboat from the Irex V." In her arrogant belief she could handle the situation, Aresia had foolishly left her Soulsword in her quarters. She tried to run, but was soon caught. The android bound her wrists in bulky electrocuffs. These were a particularly nasty form of restraint, as even the slightest hint of struggle caused an electric shock. Get shocked too many times, that was it - light's out. It would be classified as 'killed while resisting arrest'. During this time, I had been staring blankly at the goings-on, not doing anything. The android restrained me easily, a fact that I would never likely to be able to live down. He also gave me a slap for good measure, bringing me to my senses, and the realisation I was going to have the dubious honour of witnessing Westonian 'justice' first hand.
