Fred raised his sword, hoping to severe the chain with a mighty cleave.
CLLLLLLANNNG! Instead, his sword bounced off the chain which remained
undamaged. His sword was not so lucky. “I’ve just notched my second-best
sword!” he cried.
”Boo hoo hoo. How about you stop whining and find another way to get me out of this?” said Astra. ”Wait right here, Astra. I’ll try and find a key.” ”Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.” Fred continued on into the cave. It occurred to him that if he did rescue Astra, chances are that she’d want to tag along and they’d have to split the reward money. On the other hand, she was a mighty warrior and her help could prove to be invaluable. Decision time once again. Fred found himself at a fork. This time, the way was helpfully labeled for him. A sign pointing to the western fork read “Dragon’s Lair,” and a sign pointing to the eastern fork read “Hall of Keys.”
