Lord Fred was heartened. Croix treated visitors well. He always asked for stories from them, but it was a small price to pay.
Fred was glad he ended up in Croix but...

  1. he still didn't know how exactly to get to the man's residence!
  2. the rumors of the odd grunts in the middle of the night gave him pause. Croix denied the grunts, though trustworthy others have heard them.
  3. there was the Croix Ghosts Of Burning that roamed the lands.
