The Never Ending Quest - Episode 21324

The monster's repulsive head broke the surface, and Andrea screamed louder still. But then she had a surprise. Instead of its biting her head off, as she had expected (and its mouth looked quite large enough and full enough with teeth to do that), the monster said: "Please do you think that you could stop that dreadful screaming? It's giving me a headache." Its voice was a refined one, and if she had kept her eyes shut Andrea could easily have believed that it came from the throat of some Allarian nobleman.

"I'll stop screaming if you'll remove your tentacle from around my leg," Andrea offered, almost managing to keep a quiver out of her voice.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" the monster said, releasing her from its grip. "I thought that you were a goblin at first, you see. They make very good eating."

"Well, I'm not a goblin," Andrea said, having regained a fair degree of composure. "Tell me...

  1. "Who are you - or should I say what are you? I'd have thought that this pool was too small to support something your size."
  2. "Are there many goblins down here?" That there might be was an alarming thought.
