The Paperback Book

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 21313

Once Andrea had picked the object up, she soon realised that it was a book, though very different from the ones that she was used to. Instead of having stiff board covers, it had ones of some limp material. The paper was very different to the parchment pages that she was familiar with, too. But perhaps the strangest thing was the writing on the pages. Instead of having been handwritten with a quill pen, this writing was so regular in its nature that it looked as though it had been produced by some sort of machine rather than by a scribe. And each letter was separate rather than running into the next.

Because it was so unfamiliar, Andrea had some difficulty in reading it at first, but before long she grew accustomed to the strange letters. On the front cover of the book it said:

  1. "Andrea and the Golden Dishcloth of Righteousness."
  2. "Moby Dick by Hermann Melville."
  3. "Women's Rights: A Manual for 21st Century Women."
  4. "A Brief History of the World."
  5. "The Dunwich Horror by HP Lovecraft."
