At least that much was easy. With Irena now free and clothed, they decided to retrace Fred's steps. Thankfully, there was only one passage out of the room, the one Fred had come in through.
Fred tried to strike up a conversation with Irena, but they were still so angry at each other that it degenerated into shouting. So Fred decided to simply ponder the many things which were troubling him. For one thing, he didn't like the fact that Irena thought of him as stupid. He had been fooled by her hoax, but this was hardly surprising, as if the legends were true almost anything could happen in a Dragon's cave. This was obviously what Sir Adrian had been gambling on. But that wasn't Fred's biggest problem. Not only had the King been given a false map of the Caves, he had been given false information as to where they were located. If Tetrilonia was indeed behind this, then they would have to have allies in very high places, perhaps even among the King's advisers. This could very well be an attempt to subvert Allaria's prestige so that other nations would be less likely to aid Allaria if Tetrilonia invades. And if they do indeed have such powerful allies, than Allaria wouldn't stand a chance.
