Astra Faints

"You're losing a lot of blood," Vincent said, pointing to the two long deep cuts on Astra's left shoulder, visible through the big rent that Fred's scissors had made in her gown. "You'll be unconscious soon. Better for both of us that you should choose to serve me now, while you still have the chance, than that you should die and provide a source of spare parts for my anatomical experiments."

"No!" Fred exclaimed, emerging from behind the table with his arms raised and advancing towards Vincent. "Stop!" Vincent ordered, and Fred suddenly froze in place.

He must have used the same spell that he used on me earlier, Astra thought with an effort, for her mind was feeling increasingly muzzy. The world around her seemed to be rapidly getting darker now, the effect of her loss of blood. Then everything went black.

Some unknown time later she came round, surprised to find herself alive.

1. Her wound was perfectly healed, and even her dress appeared undamaged.
2. Her left arm was gone, with no sign at the shoulder that there had ever been an arm attached there!
3. In the next bed she could see the toaster head of Bobo, but now it was attached to what by rights was her body! With a terrible sinking feeling, Astra guessed what body her own head was now attached to.
