Another explosion rocked the lifeboat, this time coming from the direction
of the hull. The force sent me spiraling backwards. Out of the corner of
my eye I managed to catch a glimpse of a figure moving near the rear of
the corridor. I maneuvered around to face the figure; it was none other
than
the Ibornite that I had "conversed" with earlier! "WHAT HAVE YOU GOTTEN ME INTO!?" I raised my pistol at the alien, showing him I meant business. "YOU BETTER START WHISTLING OR CLICKING BACK SOME ANSWERS, TUBEFACE!" The Ibornite continued floating along, apparently oblivious to my presence or just outright ignoring it.SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! The dreaded sound was getting louder and coming from the direction of the hull as well now, I really had to get out of here! "HEY, TUBEFACE! I'M TALKING TO YOU!"The Ibornite continued floating along until it collided into a wall and ceased all movement. By this point the force of the second explosion had propelled me to the rear of the vessel, next to the seemingly lifeless Ibornite. I examined it's body as it hovered there, motionless. It was humanoid, as I had heard in tales from retired fighter pilots and old captains who would frequent the less savory taverns in the quadrant. It had two arms, each hand had only two fingers and a thumb. It wore what appeared to be some tattered uniform of unkown origin, purple in color. The skin all around it's body, like it's baldhead, was a shiny blue-green sort of color that reflected the reddish emergency light.Slowly, carefully, I tapped the creature on the shoulder...
