Enter, Vincent

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 20588

"We have to get moving," Karen says. Silence follows, and then...

A brilliant flash of light suddenly illuminates the forest, accompanied by a defining roar. An instant later all is dark and silent once more, as if nothing had happened...except...

There is someone else, something else amongst them. It's hard to make out what it is in the murky darkness of the forest, but whatever it is, it's huge, at least eight feet tall.

Fearing sorcery is behind this unexpected encounter; Karen and The Seeker slowly back away from the shadowy bulk. Aaron makes a move as if to reach for a weapon but stops short when the thing begins to talk...

"There's no need to draw weapons, my good man," It says with warm voice, a hint of age and wisdom ringing in it's tone. "I can assure you all that my intentions are purely honest and that I am merely a seeker of knowledge (both arcane and scientific) with the ultimate purpose of bettering all life within the Multiverse..." The voice pauses.

The Seeker gulps. Things were getting weird enough, but now this!? There's a sinking sensation in the pit of out-of-body author's stomach at the voice's emphasis on the word "seeker".

"What in Zendara is going on!?..." Aaron stumbles forward even as he mutters these words, regaining his balance at the last minute. He seems to have suddenly been freed of a spell...as if the voice had him lulled him into a false calm. He reaches for his weapon once again but stops short as the voice continues...

"Oh? So is that where we are, then? Fascinating! By my calculations we should be somewhere in the middle of the Aryn Ocean...but... I do ever so hate introducing myself in the dark (it just isn't civilized!), so let us shed a little light on the situation, shall we?"

Seemingly out of nowhere, a glowing orb appears above them. The forest surrounding the assorted throng of characters gathered in that unlikely location is bathed in it's eerie, bluish glow.

Karen and Aaron stand frozen in place, whether they are dumbfounded or under some spell, The Seeker cannot tell. It's doubtful that they recognize what the monstrosity that has been revealed before them is called, or where it is from... but The Seeker knows all too well what the purple beast with a toaster for a head is called; a gorilla.

"Don't let Bobo frighten you..." A figure casually steps to the side of the purple gorilla, revealing himself from where he had apparently been hidden behind it. He is a thin old man, wearing a white coat and although at first he may appear unremarkable... he has penetrating eyes. The Seeker cannot look directly at them, almost as if doing so would reveal everything.

The old man looks them over thoroughly with a slight grin etched on his wrinkled face. "Not a bad looking lot, I might add...but where are my manners!? Allow me to introduce myself, I am Doctor Vincent Priceless (or at least that's all of my name you need to know, because of time restraints) of...let's just say... somewhere else..." he pauses again.

Vincent turns and holds a steady gaze at The Seeker.

"I'm here to rescue you, " the Doctor breaks the uneasy silence. Karen and Aaron are still motionless and silent. "I never thought the day would come when I would finally meet one of you in the flesh! You know who you are..."

The Seeker shakes his head, "My name is Alyssa!..."

Priceless chuckles. "And a good actor, too! But I'm afraid the very fabric of our fragile Multiverse is in danger! We don't have much time and we won't get anywhere unless you're completely honest with me!"

The Seeker casts a worried glance at the other two. "What have you done to them!?"

"They've just been immobilized, don't worry!" Priceless assures The Seeker. " It's a simple safety precaution! I would hate to see the outcome if one of these fine, hotheaded youths drew their weapons and advanced on me with Bobo standing between us..."

  1. ...suddenly the sound of hoof beats in the distance...
  2. ...Stefan awakens with a spliting headache...
  3. ...Aaron and Karen come to...
