Return to the Den of Wolves

"Huh?" Alyssa says.

"Greger's still in there somewhere!" you say.

"Oh," she says.

"We have to rescue him," you say.

"What about Prince Aaron?" she says.

"This won't take long," you say. "All we have to do is go in and grab him."

"But..."

You look at here with an assertive stare. Her expression weakens with your gaze, as if she fears your disapproval. "All right," she says, meekly.

"So where would he be?" you ask Alyssa.

"Probably in the jail," she says, shrugging. "I don't know why he wouldn't be."

"Okay," you say. "Let's go."

You and Alyssa sneak back toward the village, using what cover you can. You cross the garden again and re-enter the jailhouse.

Fortunately, the guard is still unconscious. You see a key ring hanging on his belt. You take it and use each of the keys in Alyssa's chains, finally finding the one that unlocks them. Alyssa removes her chains and rubs her wrists. You then give her your key, and she unlocks your own chains. You then put your chains around the jailer's wrists and lock them, then attach them as best you can to the bars of the small window. Finally, you take his sword and leave.

"How many other cells are there?" you whisper to Alyssa.

"Um... three," she says.

"And are there any other guards?" you ask.

"Only one during the day and one at night," she says.

You nod and explore the small hallway of the jail. You have to act quickly; the guard may wake up soon.

Unfortunately, as you look at the doors of the other three cells, you realize that this may be harder than you thought. If you open the door to the wrong cell and find another prisoner waiting inside, that prisoner may make a commotion if you don't free him.

You investigate the doors. Though the wood may be lightweight, it's solidly built. There aren't any windows in the doors, or cracks anywhere that allow you to peer inside. You decide that you have no other choice but to open a door and let whatever may happen to you happen.

Sighing, you choose a door and open it. You look inside and see...
