Security Conscious Moves

That scream, anyway, nearly causes Brill to sideswipe a car!

Now, after Brill pulls quickly pulls over (forcing himself not to say anything unfortunate in front of his young charge in the process) and quickly calms not only his unexpected car guest but also his niece, he is able to learn (after gaining the pixie's trust through his niece vouching for him) from her a somewhat scrambled and confused story from her about somebody being after her. Probably the same people who did....something to her (and her unborn child). She doesn't know who she really is and feels something's not....right about herself. Can't say exactly what, but something's not right! The last part is said with a bit of trepidation, since while she somehow trusts this man (who is dressed in an outfit that garners trust within her for some reason), it doesn't come easy!

Remembering back to his days visiting Nantucket Earth at that odd wedding gives when he talked with Triakoth and looking into the frantic fairy woman's eyes gives Brill something of a clue. Her eyes are human like rather than the green, slit pupiled orbs that the fey folk have, normally. Some kind of transformation may be to blame here.

However, the thing of it is that he's a government agent, not a magic user! Meaning he's going to need help for this situation (not just this possible transformee before her). If some powerful magician was after her.....

He needed backup, and badly. Hopefully he could find it back with some friends in the Agency, but....this was a bit out of bounds of what the Agency normally handled (too understate things)! However, standing orders were that if any signs of magic or such should actually show up after the "incident" with Inquirer's group...he was to secure it ASAP and await further orders (i.e. for somebody like the President to figure out what to do next).

Maybe somehow some friends would be contacted....wasn't Brill's department (though whispered rumors abound now within the Agency)....

That and he did rather wanted to aid this pixie. Seems that something of his old friends from Terra Prime had rubbed off on him....

Using a cell phone, he called Mary's (his niece's) parents and told them that the President had unexpectedly invited Mary over for a bit. A bit overwhelmed, her parents agreed readily enough to the change in plans (though her birthday party was happening soon here). Kennedy was.... an icon come back to life and had that effect on people (not only in the U.S. but also elsewhere). He....awed people nowadays. Kind of explains his landslide victory.... Indeed, point in fact it kind of even frightened a few world leaders that he was back.....but that was another story.

"But...." Mary protests as Brill makes a shushing noise.

"I need help," Brill says simply, "To be able to help her....I need to visit....work."

"Really?" Mary asks, awed and suddenly excited. She new that her uncle worked, but no questions were ever answered on what he did or just why. All she ever was told was it had something to do with communications, but she knew well enough that Brill didn't work for the phone company.

Now she finally was going to see where her uncle worked!

Thus it comes to pass that that Brill is now heading to a safe house somewhere in Alexandria. He curses a muttered curse when he sees that some large vehicle seems to be tailing him and using his skills...is able to shake Andrea from tailing him!

Funny how things work out, eh?

Now, if you were wondering just what happened with Nyota Uhura and Uhura D'Honaire...well....that'll wait a bit.

A few clues (obvious and otherwise) have been given already, but more will come to pass. Will tell you, however, that right now it has something to do with a certain condition both women share. If it becomes worse remains to be seen...and we'll see how that develops....

Meanwhile....

1. "I lost him!" Andrea growls, momentarily dropping her disguise and revealing that she's shifted into her humanoid fox form in frustration!
