Astra had put on the clothes that the Wizard of Kamiro had provided for
her. They weren't designed for cave-exploring, and the Wizard's ex-wife
had been both shorter and less buxom than Astra, so they didn't fit very
well, but they were a lot better than nothing. Even better, from Astra's
point of view, was the sword now strapped to her waist. The shoes would
not have fit her even without the formidable claws she now had, so those
were left behind.
It was a little worrying that some unknown creature, the presumed victim of the green flash, had been not so far away without their having been aware of it. Far worse, of course, was that some unknown power had destroyed it and, if it so chose, might well be capable of destroying them as well. Still, there seemed to be nothing that they could do about that, so they prepared to move on. But then the sound of humming filled the cavern, and got louder and louder. All three of them put their hands over their ears.
