No Sign of Fred

Things seemed to be looking up for Astra and Ardua. Inevitably the clothes
were not an ideal fit, but they were perfectly serviceable. Better yet,
they
were each able to find a pair of boots which was a perfect fit.
Astra
tole Ardua that she wanted to try to join up again with Fred and Velus
(whom
she had told Ardua about). They went back to the junction of the corridors,
and then took the passage that (according to a sign above its entrance) led
to the library. Fred had come this way when he, Velus and Astra had split
up an hour or so ago.
They didn't find Fred or Velus. However, they did find:
