Beginning

When this story begins, I was two days out of Ragan IV on my way to Weston II with a cargo of ten thousand bottles of Farscape whisky. A friend whose judgement I trust tells me that the Farscape brand is the best of its kind in the known galaxy. Myself, I wouldn't know; I'm not a whisky drinker. But what I did know was that I could sell those bottles to a dealer on Weston II for thirty credits each, having paid only twenty. That was so long as the authorities didn't get their cut, of course.

1. So like I said, I was two days into the trip, with five more days to go. That was when I picked up a signal from a distress beacon.
