Mike bites off more than he can chew?
The Never Ending Quest - Episode 19627

Too hungry to realize he was about to eat another sentient, Mike lunged at
the hyperintelligent btelloid rocifer, driving his dagger into it's throat.
The beast roared in pain and clawed at Mike's sides, but in seconds it was
all over, Mike badly hurt, but lying under the carcass of one highly
edible rocifer. "Hee hee!" he giggled, climbing out and trying to staunch his massive blood loss. "Hyperintelligent, indeed!" Soon he had a fire going, and was roasting rocifer steak on a spit. Just as he was enjoying a well cooked, delicious meal, he saw something that made him double nover and puke his guts out again. The rocifer's stomach was moving and making mewling noises! Once he was done puking, Mike grabbed his dagger and performed an impromptu caesarian. "Good God." Mike sobbed in guilt as a little mewing rocifer fell into his lap. "Momma! Momma!" the rocifer kitten cried, it's little eyes still not open. It was yet hairless, and yet irresistibly cute. It was the only survivor, the other kittens packed into their mother's stomach in various poses of death. Never had Mike cried as much as he did that day, not even when his own father was hanged for stealing a mule on some backwater hick dimension. Finally, without even finishing his meal, he packed the rocifer kitten into his backpack, where it snuggled into Mike's clean underwear and fell asleep. "Don't worry, Little Mike." Mike whispered. "I'll take care of you." And with that he set off into the sunset and an uncertain future.
