The Never Ending Quest - Episode 19417

Stacy, Betty-1 and Melissa had been waiting for the Doctor to emerge from the building where (according to the Rani's information, at any rate) the Mono-Calaxium Eight was kept for over an hour [16810]. They were beginning to get a little impatient.

"What do you suppose is keeping him?" asked Melissa in a low voice.

"I don't know," said Betty, "but--"

"But there he is now!" said Stacy, as the Doctor came running out of the door at full-tilt, pursued by a uniformed man waving a rifle and shouting "Stop! Or I will shoot you!"

"Isn't it always the way?" muttered Betty-1 as they scrambled back into the car. "Long periods of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer panic."

The Doctor raced towards the car. Behind him, a shot rang out...

  1. But it missed! Ducking and weaving, the Doctor managed to reach the car...
  2. The Doctor suddenly fell face-down into the dirt.
  3. Suddenly, they were surrounded by soliders. "I think this is where we surrender or something," said Melissa.
  4. Meanwhile, back to Betty-2 and her desert trek. (Ooh, more suspense!)
  5. Meanwhile, the Master and the Rani... (Yeah, can you stand the suspense?)
