"There you are, little one." The stranger said upon finding the girl in an
alley beside the Boar's Head. "I've been looking for you. I have a
question that I must ask you." The young girl stared up at him with wide, bright eyes yet did not answer. "You are a special little thing, aren't you?" He continued, bending down on one knee. "What are you doing all alone in backwards parts such as these? And how did you make that knight sing his secrets aloud in the streets? Indeed, just what are you!?""Wouldn't you like to know, Bert?" The girl responded in a casual voice. The stranger became openly angry. "How do you know my bloody name you little devil!?" He pulled the gem out from a pouch and held it up to the girl.The girl began to giggle. "You Allarian mages are all the same! So concerned about keeping with the strict and ignorant laws of your realm you forget half of the arcane knowledge your kind once knew. That gem will have no effect over me, enchanter." She giggled some more and then disappeared. The enchanter stood there, silent in the alley for several minutes before mounting his horse and riding north with great speed.
