A Mighty Sorceress

"Hmm? Oh, yes, that would be lovely, my dear, thank you."

Hannah smiled and made and waved her hand. Instantly, a cup of fresh hot tea, with just a dollop of cream in it, appeared in front of Belboz. He took a sip and smiled. "Just the way I like it. Thank you, my dear - you certainly take good care of your uncle."

Hannah smiled and blushed. "Thank you, Uncle Beloboz," she said. Being praised by her uncle always delighted her.

Uncle Belboz was the only family she had - her parents had died when she was a mere toddler, and she had no recollections of them. She had spent 21 of her 24 years here in the caves with her uncle, and she loved him like a second father, happily doing many of the more mundane chores - cooking, cleaning, mending - that the old wizard, in spite fo his power, seemed unable to grasp.

In return, Uncle Belboz had schooled her in the ways of magic. She had begun with simple levitation spells at only five, and had progressed quickly. By the time she hit her teens, she was casting alchemy spells that many mages decades older could not fathom.

Now, at 24, Hannah was not only a beautiful and gracful young woman, but one of the most powerful magic-weilders in the world - second, in fact, only to her beloved Uncle.

"You know, Hannah, I've been scrying and casting for the last few days, and I believe this is the day we have long planned for."

Hannah looked up with a gasp. "Oh, Uncle," she cried joyfully, "How wonderful! You mean that..."

"I do indeed," he said with a chuckle. "Today is the day..."

1. "We shall finaly be able to free the dragon."
2. "That I shall retire, leaving all this in your more than competent hands."
3. "We will seize the castle of King Embry and subjegate all of Allaria!"
4. "Your future husband will enter the caves."
5. "To reveal to you the secret of the Red Tome."
