Encounter in a Bookstore

"Excuse me," she said.

The boy looked up from his comic, and his eyes widened in surprise at what he saw: a tall, beautiful redhead, barefoot and wearing clothes that seemed too small for her. "Yuh-yes," he stammered.

"Are you here for this magic gathering?" the strange woman asked. "You seem rather young for a wizard, if you don't mind me saying so."

"Magic gathering?"

"I saw the sign in the window. Are many wizards expected? Is it an all- male affair, or will there be witches as well?"

The boy opened and closed his mouth a few times, but no sound emerged.

"You see, I've been plucked by magic out of my own world, and I'm hoping that these magicians will be able to send me back."

The boy looked at Astra nervously, wondering which institution she had escaped from.

1. "I'm sorry, but 'Magic: The Gathering' is just a card game," he tried to explain.
2. "Yeah, the magicians will be here shortly," he said, and then ran out of the store.
3. Seeing Astra talking to the boy and the boy looking nervous, the salesgirl came up. "Is this woman annoying you?" she asked him.
4. Meanwhile, Madame Zelberta was hunting down the second psychic tug, and was approaching the bookstore.
