The Never Ending Quest - Episode 1804

~Incredible!~ thought Fred. ~Here I am in a towne with an unsavory reputation and I walk it with legs no higher than my cousin's boy Wilmont. How did such a thing come over me? What did I do that deserved this!!?!~ He quickly recalled his sexual improprieties in the woods. ~Oh, that's right.~

As Lord Frederigo walked down the street he was unaware as to how his appearance was affecting the neighborhood; mothers pulling their kids off the streets, children staring wide-eyed from barred windows, men placing hand near to hilt and scabbard and hook, youths following with skepticism and trepidation. Finally he looked up when he heard a shout: "Hey, freak!"

Lord Frederigo, son of the Duke of Suffex, looked up to see three ruffians wearing leathered breeches and cotton rags. They stood with knives in their hands, and the knives seemed to glint from the rays of the sun.

"What do you want?" asked Fred in his most convivial voice.

"A new fur coat!" smirked one of the youths.

Lord Frederigo had seen this kind before. The Great Kingdom had its fair share of hoodlums - those poor bastard serfs who chose not to follow the ancient and honorable path of service but chose to rebel and fight for the cause of anarchy. He had sent his vassals once to quell such an uprising in the nearby duchy of Suffix, and he had heard of similar problems in the lands of the House of Croix. He had never, however, had to defend himself from such trash before - and in his reduced capacity, he was not sure the best course.

All musings aside, he had to make a quick choice, for before he coud say 'go away', the filth was upon him with knives at the fore.

  1. Fred bares his teeth, scaring the bejeebers out of the young ruffians.
  2. Fred runs like the wind down a side alleyway.
