Madame Zelberta Makes Her Entrance

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 18000

The improbably named Madame Zelberta (who looked rather like Whoopi Goldberg) shook her head in confusion. Where was she, and how had she come here? One moment she had been trying to persuade Tom Cruise that, if he was really serious about Scientology, he should employ her to try to contact the late L Ron Hubbard; the next moment she was here - wherever "here" was. It seemed to be a small park somewhere rather hot and dry.

Then she stiffened. She could sense a paranormal presence of some sort. Strangely, she seemed to sense it from two different directions, yet the two "signatures" appeared identical. Curious, she started to walk towards the stronger of the two emanations (which was that coming from that part of Betty which happened to be nearer to the park:

  1. In a hall, where she was watching Fred apparently quite enjoying his mug of ale.
  2. On a street, where she was watching passers-by on the sidewalk look at Astra and then, sensing that some sort of explosion was imminent, making a wide detour to avoid coming too close.
