Three Daleks moved to obey, waving their gunstalks and shouting "Exterminate! Exterminate!" in typical Dalek fashion.

"No!" cried the Doctor desperately. "Wait!"

  1. Amazingly, the Daleks waited. "Well?" said Davros, obviously expecting the Doctor to bargain for his life.
  2. Suddenly, the closest Dalek exploded as an energy beam struck it from the doorway.
  3. Ignoring him, the Daleks fired!
