The sound of bickering Time Lords does nothing for a headache, but Betty-2
managed to avoid groaning as she cautiously opened her eyes. She was in
what she
recognised as a TARDIS's control room, the TARDIS in question presumably
being
that belonging to the Rani.
Why had she been taken prisoner? Presumably to force the Doctor to do something. She recalled what the Rani had said just before she (Betty- 2) had been clubbed into unconsciousness, that there was one last thing she (the Rani) needed in order to build a production version of her morphenogenic device, and that she wanted the Doctor to get whatever it was for her. [13323] Unfortunately Betty-2 did not know what it was rhe Rani needed nor, more importantly, where the Doctor might have had to go to get it, assuming that he was being forced to co-operate. So even if she could escape, she couldn't see how she could make contact with him. All that advanced technology, but he didn't have a cellphone! The central control column was motionless, so Betty-2 assumed that the Rani's TARDIS was not in transit. Assuming that they were somewhere on the Earth's surface and still in the "current" time, perhaps she could escape. She looked around her, hoping that the Time Lords would be wrapped up wnough in their argument not to notice her. She saw that for the time being the Master still appeared to have the upper hand; at least, she had the device in her hand and was pointing it at the Rani.
