The Never Ending Quest - Episode 17271

Almost as one, the faces of the crowd swiveled up to look at the screen. Then swiveled down to look at Betty-1. Then swiveled back up to the screen again. Then swiveled back down...

"Uh-oh," said Melissa softly. "This does not look good."

Indeed, it didn't, and moments later there were cries of "Imposter!" and "Liar!" and "That's not Annanova!" from the crowd. The person Betty'd just signed an autograph for threw the paper down at her feet in disgust. Things were beginning to look very ugly...

  1. Meancingly, the crowd started to close in.
  2. Fortunately (or, quite possibly, unfortunately) that's when the authorities showed up.
  3. But, just then, something happening on the screen distracted everybody's attention.
