Fashion statement fallout.....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 17150

"Wonder how that spider and the convoy will take this new fashion statement," Betty quips, pointing to the leather headband with a crowing piece of crystal within it that she, I, and the others now sport.

Betty

Indeed, the Eight Legs (or spiders as they don't like to be called) and their flunkies are less than pleased by it.

It plays out in a similar manner as I remember it playing out on TV....only....more blood is shed than what I'm sure the BBC censors would allow.

Gods! I don't think I'll ever forget it.

.....

Well, the Doctor had planned on fomenting rebellion to help break the Spiders' hold on humanity on this world, but I saw great sadness over the bloodshed. But as in the TV show as here, there wasn't much that could be done once things boiled over.

As soon as the village of the local rebel leader was secure, the Doctor and I headed into the mountain stronghold where the Great One made her lair inside the Crystal Cavern via TARDIS. I depart the TARDIS with the Doctor (despite his protest...I'm NOT a stay in the TARDIS kind of Companion) but only escort him part of his way to his goal. Even with this anti-psionic gem I wear I know that if I get too close that monstrous spider is going to overpower it and me, mentally. That, and if I should go into that Cavern I'm going to die, period! I'm human and only have one life to live, unlike the Doctor.

He enters rapidly into the Cavern, refusing to answer any questions from the angered Great One, and slams the perfect OPPOSITE crystal (an anti-psionic crystal that is the opposite to the blue crystal in every way) home into the matrix that was to increase the Great One's mind. The Great One and every other Spider found their psionic powers dwindling down to nothing. It was a permanent change.

As you can imagine they became ever so much more reasonable about allowing the humans freedom and self rule after that.

I helped the Doctor (who'd come staggering out from his ordeal in the Cavern) back into the TARDIS. He looked like hell, but he managed to enter into the Control Column the coordinates. I know he'd been trying for his Earth, but apparently either he was too out of it to do it correctly or...the TARDIS had different plans (not beyond the realm of possibility).

We land upon Terra Prime instead. Well, frazzled and nearly unconscious, he stumbled out with me supporting him. Then, out of the blue a vision of someone trying to kill the Lord President back in his universe! In other words, it was The Deadly Assassin, or so I thought.

He was in no shape to go, but he went anyway. I and another Golem named Alex (rather dark fellow but trying to reform....taking anger management courses I see)... Well, we insisted on coming along. Needing all the help he could get and not having the energy to argue, he lets us go with him. We landed and he faints dead away while explaining to Romana (!) who's been saddled with a Traffic Controller job upon graduating even earlier than her TV counterpart what's going on. After Security is informed and the Doctor is looked after, I see that Romana wanted to do more.

With a devilish smile I suggested that she should. Go so far as to even suggest what we could do once we used her Instruments to locate the Master's TARDIS (who had been overlooked). Anyway, we find the Master's TARDIS after I practically twist Lady Rodan's arm to doublecheck (can see why Romana kept muttering about her)

We can gain entry (doesn't this guy ever learn to lock his door?). I then suggested something mischievous that struck Romana's funny bone. Meanwhile, Alex has off and out to stop the assassin. He got into the place where the President was having business (sorry lot of guards in there...care not to repeat the rather heated words he used to describe their lacks). But....I foud out from he found one Blake talking with one Master and....basically tried to stunned them all....using heavy stun. Somehow, though, the Master was able to dodge (moves fast for a walking corpse) and made his way...with Alex in chase, back to the Master's TARDIS. Only, once the man in black got in and dashed to where his Control Console was....it wasn't there.

See, while away, I and Romana had, with help from one Time Lady Rodan, disconnected the Control Column and hide it. Still staring stupidly in shock, the Master gotten stunned in the back by an angry Alex.

The still angry Golem then had to administer CPR on the Master, due to his hearts stopping. He'd not really wanted to, but it was the right thing to do.

Anyway, the Doctor had recovered enough by this time to smooth out any wrinkles with Blake and those of his gang....especially after the Mind Probe application to the Master proved them free of any association of guilt with the evil Time Lord's plans.

......

No! Not the Mind Probe....

Sorry, couldn't resist!

.....

Now, what happened next was remarkably similar to what had happened with the story with Dr. Who's group, I found out later. "My" Romana, after getting slighted, had secretly reinstalled that Control Column and taken off for a life which appealed to her.....something like what the Doctor enjoyed. I was able to give a small warning about Avon having gone through a lot before meeting (and then shooting) Blake. Blake and Avon apparently made good. Things like that.

Also found out later that Vila had tried to pick Alex's pocket....only to find out many of his own items picked in turn. Thus informed of Vila's character, Alex made sure that no pistols or anything else got swiped. Good thing, considering that those who steal from Militar members while onboard ship tend to....fall down ladderwells and stuff.....

Don't ask....you don't want to know....

Anyway, things were like Dr. Who's group. Only thing was that 'my' Blake and gang found out about 'my' Arlen earlier than with his.," I and Alex had a fun time keeping them from lynching him, until I suggested that soon we'd let Servalan have her after all this was over.

The smiles I get from Blake's 7, especially Avon, was chilling. Alex's smile is not any more heart warming....but he apologized later for letting me see that.

Like I said, he's trying to reform. Wish him luck....

That's about the time the TARDIS, on route back to where the Doctor thought he'd set it, lands instead in some Admiral's ship of the Military....and boy is that interesting.

At least Alex is able to calm things down when the Ship Security comes to respond to our presence.

Anyway, we find out this ship is on it's way back to Terra Prime to a meeting that Blake would just love to have....and that's where B7 meets....B7!

Boy, what will I see next while I'm the.... "my" Doctor's Companion....is surprising I'm sure (I'm not going to just "retire" just yet).

But, when I see the other group from Doctor Who's recent adventures, I can't help but look back at the way "my" group will be coming.....

  1. It's interesting....
