Drunkard

"Really, Captain?" she said. "Come now, what more can you tell. Are there inns and hostels? towns or cities? dangers? What does the Three Kingdoms have to offer?"

The captain giggled a bit and tried to compose himself. "Excuse me, dearest maiden. You do not know the burdens one must suffer in these lands, and the trials!" A feeling of warmth and liberation had overcome the simple captain (as well as his vices). "I am alone here, fair one, and that is not a goodly thing."

Astra, a woman of the world (atleast of the Aqualarian world) saw where this was going. She immediately put it to a stop. "Stop," she said. "Captain, you are drunk. I do not bide with such things. Goodbye." And with that she left. The captain was too stunned and mellowed to even react. He lay on his bed and slept a sleep of intoxicated peace.

Many hours later, on the Wilian Way, the foursome were galloping along. Jarvis and Fred were up front leaving the two Aqualarians together.

"The peddler can't hear us back here," said Thessamar. "Did you learn anything from the Captain?"

"Only that some men can't handle their liquor," she answered. "Men, they think a good time is losing consciousness in the arms of a woman!"

"Thank the goddess we're Aqualarians!" laughed Thessamar.

And with that the foursome continued their ride through the Three Kingdoms. Their destination was the southern end of the Kingdom, the City Kryse. That was some eighteen days away (the Three Kingdoms held a large territory) and a lot could happen on the way.

1. Into the heart of Stormgarde - the land of warrior men and women.
2. Into the center of Daelin - the land of merchants, of rich and poor.
3. Into the core of Luthor - the land of prophets, of soul-sages and spirit-mystics.
