Over a Barrel

The Doctor placed a restraining hand on her shoulder. He looked pained. In a quiet voice, he said, "Unfortunately, I don't see that I have a choice."

"Very wise, Doctor!" replied the Rani.

"Don't worry, my dear," the Master added, in a condescending tone. "As long as you all do as you've been told, no harm will come to her. Fail us, of course, and the results will be... unforunate." They both laughed nastily. Dragging the still unconscious form of Betty-2 along with them, the two evil Time Lords disappeared into the Rani's TARDIS... which then disappeared, itself.

"You do have a brilliant plan, right Doctor?" said the remaining Betty hopefully.

The Doctor scratched his chin, looking a little sheepish. "Well, I do have a plan," he said.

"What is it?" asked Stacy eagerly.

"Cooperate with them." Three unhappy female voices raised in a babble of protest until the Doctor added "For now!"

"Maybe they'll kill each other fighting over the thing before we have to hand them over the stuff," muttered Betty-1.

"Well," said the Doctor, "we can always hope."

"Where's your car?" sighed Melissa.

1. Resignedly, they all trooped off towards Betty's car.
2. Meanwhile, in the Rani's TARDIS...
