"What?" cried Stacy. She took another look around her. It didn't
look much different to her than the Alabama forest they had just left, but
then, Stacy was a city girl, born and raised, and one tree looked pretty
much like another to her. "Well, where are we, then?" "Somewhere in Europe, I'd say." Burke pointed to a small flower growing nearby. It didn't look particularly European to Stacy. "See that? That's definitely not a North American species." "Uh-huh," said Stacy, not entirely convinced. "Uh, Stacy?" Paula's voice was gentle. "I hate to say it, but I think he's right. Look around you." Stacy did so, puzzled. "No, not at the woods," Paula said. "Look at the sky." Stacy did so. Slowly she became aware that something was... odd. The slant of the sunlight was all wrong. It had been lunchtime when they'd taken off, less than an hour ago, but the sun was halfway down the sky. It felt like late afternoon. "You're right," said Burke, nodding with approval at Paula's perceptiveness. "I'd say we must have travelled five or six time zones, at least. Stacy swore. "Great. Just great. So what do we do now?"
